Drinking can be good for you. We're not lying, you just have to consume the right kind of cocktail, and the barkeeps at Distill know their vitamins.
This month my trashy magazine informs me that I can live guilt-free in eight easy steps. Seven of these are a lie and I want my $6.95 back. Luckily, the crew at Distill Bar have taken it upon themselves to provide a moment of moral respite for one of the most debauched pockets of the community - those who love their cocktails.
Sitting pretty on Rundle Street, Distill is serving up cocktails that are actually good for you. Full of organic ingredients (ginkgo this, ginseng that), these clever barkeeps have managed to fill a drinks list with sneaky treats that are actually kind to your liver - well, almost. If that wasn't enough, once a month on a Monday you can get a manicure with your 'medicinal' martini.
Warm your heart with the antibacterial-fighting Blaze - warmed cognac, fragrant cloves, cinnamon, flamed orange zest and quince liqueur. If you'd rather warm someone else's heart though, sip on a Sexy Times, composed of Jameson Irish whiskey, Cointreau, organic apple juice, crushed mandarin and the all important horney goat weed, a purported natural aphrodisiac.
With the interior decor unfolding in an array of natural colours and textures, plush leather couches and indoor greenery, the space is reminiscent of an LA health bar, but in place of skinny socialites are friendly staff - and they actually serve bar food here.
