This pub is serious about live bands, jukebox hits, shots and beer. You don't need to dress up at all, but hey, leave the trackies and thongs at home anyway.
The Crown & Anchor is the sort of place you head to when you want to chug beers, catch live gigs and thrash someone at pool. Don't worry about the fact that you're wearing yesterday's jeans. Nobody cares. This is the kind of solid establishment that doesn't subscribe to pretentious door policies. The crowd is down to earth and the party vibe is fueled by live rock, jukebox hits and hard alcohol.
Bands get a fair amount of attention here at the Crown & Anchor. Truth Corroded has previously played here and so has Flat Stanley, Yakspit, Temporal Lobe, Muzzy Pep, The Selfish Gene, The Blood Sucking Freaks and The Spazzys. But even if you come on a night when live bands aren't on, you can always crank up the jukebox, shoot some pool and toss a few darts across the room with your mates. Tequila slammers are popular and so are tap beer brands such as Coopers, Tooheys and Heineken.
The Crown & Anchor is particularly busy on Monday nights (attracting a loyal hospitality industry crowd). This pub is set close to the nightlife epicentre of Adelaide (also known as good old Rundle Street).
