The Cipri brothers, formerly behind the ever-popular Swordfish Ristorante Italiano at South Sydney Juniors, have joined forces again to open this sophisticated Paddington eatery.
The change of postcode should only work in the boys' favour, as the look and quality of service are already in line with the standards of well-heeled, inner-city clientele while also likely to retain many of their previous patrons (always a good sign for newcomers).
With Mama Maria working her magic in the kitchen alongside chef son Carmelo, the food side of things is well taken care of. The menu features classic Italian fare with a contemporary twist, as well as a number of delectable woodfired options.
While somewhat smaller than their previous venture, the humble premises also houses a separate bar complete with bar stools for those who wish to have an
aperitivo and friendly chat with the bar staff before dining. The drinks menu is simple but thoughtful, incorporating a good wine selection as well as a number of Italian classics.
The decor is contemporary and stylish without being sterile and impersonal; all the menus feature adorable black-and-white Cipri family photographs.
