A cross between a club and a gig space, this underground den is dedicated to an eclectic music line-up - with as much variety as a mixed bag of lollies. DJs and live bands keep the dance floor heaving.
Traipse down the steps of this Bayswater Road terrace and let yourself be drawn into Candy's sweet little underground lair.
This cavernous den is only open at the tail end of the week, and it attracts a hoard of trendy young things determined to dance (and pash) away the hassles of the week.
Although there are a variety of spirits, wine and beer available, the regulars know there's little time to stop and linger over a drink. Some throw back quick shots of Agua de Bolivia: a sweet herbal liqueur made from the Bolivian coca leaf. Chomp on a wedge of lime then knock back a shot of this startlingly sweet liqueur that contains traces of guarana and ginseng.
Candy's is reminiscent of a traditional French nightclub. It's a smoky den coated in sexy red lighting, exposed bricks and a chequered floor. Shiny disco balls are strung across the ceiling, casting jagged specks of light across the dancing figures.
The sound line-up is unrelentingly eclectic. Dirty house, hip hop, dance, electro, drum'n'bass and rock all reign here, along with all sorts of live gigs.
