Well known for its status as a Tex-Mex family-friendly restaurant, this new venue in Townsville's night club strip is spicing things up for bar-goers.
Cactus Jacks is multiplying - the existing bar and grill-style restaurants are now joined by Cactus Jack's Saloon, which boasts the best range of tequila in town and a swanky roof-top bar with views over the city.
There are a total of 23 different types of tequila on offer from all over the world, but the biggest drawcard by far is the Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia: At 200 years old, it's no wonder people rave about this Mexican spirit.
Unlike its sister venues, the saloon is three storeys high. The first level displays a bar, dance floor and tables for diners or those wanting a bar snack. Go up a level and there is more seating, but on the third level punters will find a lounge area which leads out onto the sky bar. This top level can be hired for any event, whether it's a birthday or engagement party.
The view and accompanying tropical breeze is certainly impressive, but perhaps the saloon's biggest victory is the slice of fame it displays near the front entrance. If you think it's any old buffalo's head, think again - this one has rubbed shoulders with Paul Hogan in
Crocodile Dundee.
