Bungalow 8 is more than a cool spot for business folk. Folks flock here on Tuesday to enjoy the all-you-can-eat mussels and chunky fries, while Friday and Saturday nights attract the well-dressed, funky-electro lovers.
When the sun shines midweek, you can be sure that suits will be sitting at Bungalow 8 and the passer-by will be thinking that these Australians really don't work too hard. But of course nothing could be further from the truth, as new research shows that Australians are working harder than ever to secure time for a long, boozy work lunch at Bungalow 8. With its fine selection of seafood - including oysters Kilpatrick, traditional Belgian mussel pots and crispy-skinned whole barramundi - and its long list of Australian and New Zealand wines, Bungalow 8 is attractive to most corporate types.
Its prestigious views give it an air of elegance and exclusiveness, particularly if you're sitting on the waterfront wooden sundeck. Pushing the aroma of splendour is the cigar menu and the connoisseur's spirits lists, which includes a mountain of different vodkas, gins, rums and whiskeys. Inside, the decor maintains the impression of Sydney-chic style. Australian architect Dale Jones-Evans used marble finishes, paper-lighting fixtures and a bamboo hut theme to turn this waterfront location into a tropical CBD getaway.
