The iconic pub has keg-loads of appeal and multiple bars to suit different crowds. It's a one-stop destination with everything from a restaurant to a bottle-o.
With a commanding corner position and a facade that justifies its heritage-listed status, the Brass Monkey is definitely hard to miss. It's an imposing kind of establishment, especially when it's lit up after dark. The management here even claim that it's the most photographed pub in Perth. Well, maybe that's true, but it's a big call. Who's actually keeping track of all the camera clicks? Maybe this is something to ponder while sampling the boutique beers on offer here. There's everything from VB and Carlton to lesser-known brands such as Alpha Pale Ale, Rooftop Red Lager and Sticklers Best Bitter.
The Brass Monkey pub has loads of different bars and it's easy to get lost here, especially after a few drinks. There's the traditional main bar (decked out with wooden panelling, chequered floors and good old brass fittings), the balcony bar, the courtyard bar and the sports bar, which features plasma screens to keep footy fans glued to the chesterfields.
The Brassgrill restaurant offers dishes such as vegetarian lasagna or swordfish teamed with prawns and scallops. Meanwhile the Grapeskin wine bar serves 35 sozzle-worthy wines by the glass and a further 250 by the bottle. Mood lighting, smooth DJ tunes and occasional live jazz give it extra oomph.
