It was clear at first glance that this humble cafe was destined for bar-dom. Joining a host of drinking luminaries, 13B (formerly Safe House) brings an added intimacy and elegance to the block, with sombre tones, candelabra and luscious cocktails.
What a fantastic place, the room is simply perfect to wine and dine and feels like something straight from the streets of paris!
An exctensive cocktail list is well presented and written and the drinks are simply amazing. Perfectly balanced and made by former Hemmesphere and Lotus bar manager Mark (it's his bar so the care and personal touch is there!) you know reputation speaks for itself.
We didn't crack into the wine list, with a massive choice of Mark's personal collection there's some well known and aged red's just ripe for the picking, a great selection also by the glass and i'm not even going to mention the Champagne list.
Food was a second thought at first until the chef started sending out dished to every other table but ours, the food looked and smelled too good so we had to try it. We had the most beautiful piece of steak, cooked to perfection with a trio of mustards followed by 13b's risotto of prawn and saffron. YUMMMMMMMMMMM. Big of flavour, great on size and so cheap for great produce.
Without fail i'll be back, again and again and again.
